Let's Talk Skin Care!
I think it's important for everyone to have a skincare routine. I know when I was much younger, I didn't put much thought into my skin care. I didn't think I really needed one. But let's face it, I'm not getting any younger and neither are you. So I'm here to help you find a great routine, so you can glow in your best way!
Skin IS the biggest organ on your body and it is important to treat it right. There are different skin types and when you find out what yours is, if you don't know already, you can find the right type of products made specifically for your skin. Of course we can really dive deep into skin but let's stick to the basics.

Dry Skin (that's me) : Your skin is prone to cracking and peeling. Your skin is less elastic which makes it prone to wrinkles and fine lines. Your skin can become rough and dull if not cared for properly.
Oily Skin: Your skin will be oily and your pores will be enlarged. You will be prone to blackheads and acne.
Combination (a mix of both): Your skin is just that, oily and dry. Typically your T-Zone (forehead, nose and skin) are oily where the rest of your face is usually dry.
Normal: Your skin has been blessed by the Gods and you can wear just about any makeup you want! You're not too oily and not too dry. Your pores are barely visible and you have very little blemishes if any and no sensitivities.
Sensitive: This is a sub category of the top 4. You usually become dry or itchy and may experience redness and have some sort of reaction to certain products.
So now that we got the skin types out of the way, what do you need for a good skin regiment. I'm no expert but here are the things that I recommend that you need.
1. Cleanser. Sometimes this can be combined with an exfoliator. Find one that caters to your needs (blackheads, dry skin, oily skin, acne, etc).
2. Exfoliator. This is especially important for us dry skin and combination skin people. However good for everyone overall.
3. Toner. This removes any last traces of dirt, grime and impurities stuck in your pores after you wash your face. When added to your daily skincare routine and used regularly, it can have major positive impact on the appearance and tightness of your pores.
4. Serums. This is not always necessary but I sure do love me a good serum! This can be focused on specific skin care needs. Extra Vitamin C, wrinkles, or an extra moisturizer.
5. Moisturizer. Very important regardless of the skin type. This will help with the overall look of your skin. It keeps your skin look fresh and not dull.
6. Sunscreen. Everyone needs to protect their skin from the sun rays regardless of skin tone.
Honorable Mentions: (just some of the favorites I like to use)
Eye Cream
Lip Scrubs
Facial Oils
Overnight Masks
Under Eye Mask
Face roller
Tip: Pay attention to the shelf life on your products. You can take a marker and put the date you open your product on the bottom of it so you can keep up with dates. Using product after its shelf life can mean you are no longer getting the full potential of the product and you may be picking up bacteria and putting it on your face.
I wanted to listen some of the products that I love here and maybe it can help guide some of you to products that may work for you! Please note, a lot of these items I got in subscription boxes and did not pay full price for them. However, you may can find similar products in your price range if these do not work for you.

One of the face washes that I love is by Purlisse. Its a 4 in 1 cleansing milk. This wash helps to remove makeup and also helps tone the skin.

For me I LOVE a good facial oil. Here is the one I use. Sunday Riley is pricey, I have the 1.18fl oz but there is a smaller version at a lower price also available. BUT you can find these great products usually in a subscription based option. I use BoxyCharm and Ipsy currently and it has helped me tremendously.

Face Serums! Here are a few that I like and use! These are just some options but so many choices out there.
Tip: Clean your makeup brushes often. It will depend on how much you use them. However, dont let them sit for weeks without being cleaned.
Face Milks are also a great option. I have Coconut, Watermelon and Strawberry from Colourpop's Forth Ray line. They are about $14.00 a pop but they run sales often and you can find great deals and they smell amazing and give you a quick moisturizing boost. TIP: Colourpop lets you shop by skin type as well, so you if you are not sure which one to pick, filter out by your skin type!!

Lastly I love to have these babies on hand! Theses help me with keeping my hands out my face, removing makeup and drying the face. You can use them for just about anything. They are biodegradable and you can use a new clean towel every time. I love rinsing it under warm water and washing my face with them.

I hope this blog was helpful to you in some way and gives you the push to clean glowing skin! If you try any of these products, leave a comment and let me know!
